This deer in particular is a Hunted Fallow hide. There are 4 holes in this hide, 1 of which was sewn up. The hide is very soft, plush suede. Hide is thinner than that of red deer, but slightly denser.
Softened with a combination of plant extract lecithin & olive oil, then tanned/smoked with punk wood I harvest myself from a local forest. These hides have been frame softened so that the hide comes out nice & flat. All my hides pass the needle test, meaning that they are excellent quality for bead working, let alone for garments.
